II. Managing the Product

After completing the ISTQB Certified Test Manager (CTAL-TM) course, you will be able to:
- lead testing in various software development projects and implement the test processes necessary for the test organisation
- identify test participants and software development lifecycle models in a context-sensitive way
- Identify and assess risks and use the results to plan, estimate costs, monitor and control test activities in such a way that the test objectives are achieved
- Define a project test strategy that contributes to the organisational test strategy and the project context
- Continuously monitor and control test activities to achieve project objectives, evaluate the relevant test status and report to project stakeholders in a timely manner
- Lead activities to improve the test process and support and accompany organisational initiatives to improve the test process
- Plan test activities, provide the necessary test infrastructure and estimate the test effort
- Provide economic arguments for test activities and predict which costs and benefits can be expected
- Create defect reports and document a defect workflow that is suitable for the software development lifecycle
- Ensure respectful and appropriate communication between members of the test team and between the test team and other project participants, and moderate as necessary
- Identify the necessary skills and develop them within your team or assist in procuring additional resources
